2024 Solar Eclipse Events

On Monday, April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will be visible in North America for the first time since 2017. The eclipse can be seen in Saginaw between 12:22PM to 3:00PM with maximum totality at 1:41PM.  The next solar eclipse will not be visible in the contiguous US until 2044.

Saginaw is in the path of totality for the eclipse and we invite residents to participate in the two events we have planned for this solar event. 

April 6th: Library Event
The Saginaw Public Library will be hosting an event with a solar presentation and kid friendly activities. Everyone who stops by will get a free Eclipse Glasses*.

April 8th: Eclipse Watch Party
Saginaw will be hosting a FREE watch party at the Switchyard at Willow Creek Park. There will be music and food trucks as we experience the once in a life time Solar Eclipse! Everyone who attends will get free eclipse glasses*.

The Eclipse Watch Party is a Free event but we ask attendees to get free tickets so we can have a good estimated count.
