Tall Weeds & Grasses:
The Saginaw City Code prohibits grass and weeds in excess of twelve
(12) inches in height on any property. Notification of “high grass” will
be mailed to the owner of the property. If the property isn’t mowed
within ten (10) days from the date of notification, the City will mow
the property. If the City of Saginaw mows the property the minimum
charge is $250.00. Property owners will receive ONLY ONE (1) HIGH GRASS
NOTICE PER GROWING SEASON. For more information contact Code Enforcement
at 817 230-0500 EXT 2443.
Grass Clippings: Grass
clippings or other yard waste blown or swept into the street is a violation of
the storm water ordinance, please mulch, compost, bag or blow into your yard.
Outdoor Watering: The Water Conservation
Ordinance prohibits watering landscapes between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. year
round. These regulations insure adequate water supplies for sanitation and fire
protection. Do your part! Water...there’s no substitute.
Stagnant Water: Please
maintain pools and ponds all year to prevent stagnant water. Empty any vessels
that may allow even one inch of water to accumulate.
Pool Enclosures: All pools including above
ground pools, portable pools and spas are required to have an approved wall or
fence of at least six (6) ft in height with no opening, other than gates, that
is larger than four inches. Self latching gates are also required. Locks on
gates do not satisfy this requirement. Please consider this regulation before
purchasing and setting up a portable pool.
Garbage Collection:
Household garbage may be placed out for collection no earlier than 7:00 pm the
night before your collection day. Containers must be securely closed when set
out for collection and when stored to prevent the scattering of contents. Lids
for recycle bins may be picked up at City Hall.
Parking on the Grass: In
front and side yards vehicles, boats and trailers are to be on a monolithic
concrete paved surface or a surface of contiguous concrete pavers. Vehicles are
to be completely resting on such surfaces from the point they leave the public
streets to the point upon which they are parked or stored. Operable vehicles,
boats or trailers stored in rear yards require obstruction from view and a paved
surface to point of storage. Gravel surfaces do not satisfy this requirement.
