Mr. Davenport began his employment with the City as a professional firefighter in June 2002. Prior to becoming a career firefighter, he served the City as volunteer with the department for 8 years. Mr. Davenport pursued his firefighter and emergency medical certifications while serving as a volunteer leading to his professional career with the City.

In October of 2007, after serving as a firefighter/paramedic, Mr. Davenport was promoted to the rank of Fire Lieutenant and was responsible for performing and supervising shift duty personnel in fire suppression, rescue, fire prevention and emergency medical service activities. In March 2011, Mr. Davenport was promoted to the rank of Division Chief responsible for overseeing the Fire Services Division. As the Fire Services Division Chief Mr. Davenport also serves as the Fire Marshal for the City. Division Chief Davenport is directly responsible for Fire Code application and enforcement, fire prevention activities, fire and explosion investigations, life and fire safety education and Saginaw CERT coordination. Division Chief Davenport also assists with Emergency Management activities and overseeing the routine and emergency activities of the department involving fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical services and training.

Beginning in 2005 Division Chief Davenport also proudly serves as a member of the State of Texas/FEMA Texas Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team. Division Chief Davenport currently serves as a Rescue Officer for TxTF1 USAR and coordinates a group of 11 personnel in rescue operations throughout Texas, the nation and abroad.
