NEWS TICKER >  ..................UPCOMING HOLIDAY SCHEDULE:  All City of Saginaw facilities will be closed Monday, September 6th to observe the Labor Day Holiday.  However, the Saginaw Aquatic Center will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m..................CARTER BLOOD DRIVE:  The Saginaw Recreation Center is hosting a Carter Blood Drive in the parking lot of the Center on September 16 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Your 1 pint of blood can save 3 lives!....................

The Saginaw Animal Services Center would like to say thank you to the Saginaw Public Library.  The Library held a fund raiser for the Saginaw Animal Shelter and brought in lots of food and litter for the animals.  Thank you for all the donations.

Also, the Saginaw Animal Services Center would like to say thank you to Heather Garner (a 5th grade teacher at Lake Pointe Elem.).  Mrs. Garner held a fund raiser at her school for donations.  Lake Pointe collected approximately 60 pounds of food for the animals as well as collars, toys, two pet taxis, shampoo and cleaning supplies for the shelter.  Thank you for all the hard work and thank you to the faculty and students at Lake Point Elementary.

Greenfield Elementary and Harry T, a male Golden Retriever therapy dog; Harry T just celebrated his birthday on Friday the 12th of March, for his birthday Harry T wished to donate his presents received from the students of Greenfield Elementary to the Saginaw Animal Shelter. Among those presents were food, tennis balls, toys and blankets. Thank for the generous donations that were given to our shelter.

High Country Elementary, Mrs. Beverly Wiley a librarian at this school held her annual donation drive. The drive yielded lots of food, treats, cleaning supplies leashes and collars. Thank you Mrs. Wiley for all you do with your donation drives. Mrs. Wiley holds donation drives annually at her school for the Saginaw Animal Shelter and in return for the donations Saginaw Animal Control reads books to the children and answers any questions the may have about animals and our career. Thank You Mrs. Wiley for everything you do.
