  • Segment 3B:

    The first phase of the I-35W reconstruction (north of I-820) is officially underway, with utility relocations and preliminary ground excavation activities already occurring. This segment, known as Segment 3B of the North Tarrant Express, is part of the 10-mile reconstruction of I-35W from I-30 downtown to US 81/287. It is anticipated that construction on this segment will be completed in 2017.

  • Anticipated Road Construction for the days of:  August 7-11

    • Here are the anticipated traffic impacts north of I-820 to North Tarrant Pkwy for the coming week (day closures are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; night closures are from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. unless otherwise noted):
      • IH-35W Southbound Main Lanes:
        • During the day, Saturday, Aug 5, various lanes of I-35W southbound between North Tarrant Pkwy and I-820 will be closed for punch list work.
        • Nightly (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.), Friday, Aug 4, through Saturday, Aug 12, except on Sundays, the right outside lane of I-35W southbound main lanes between Basswood Blvd & Western Center Blvd will be closed for structural finish work.
      • IH-35W Northbound Main Lanes:
        • During the day, Saturday, Aug 5, various lanes of I-35W northbound between North Tarrant Pkwy and I-820 will be closed for punch list work.
        • During the day, Saturday, Aug 5, the right outside lane of I-35W northbound main lanes between Fossil Creek Blvd & Western Center Blvd will be closed for punch list work.
      • IH-35W Southbound Exit to Western Center Blvd:  Nightly (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.), Friday, Aug 4, through Saturday, Aug 12, except on Sundays, the I-35W southbound exit to Western Center will be closed in coordination with the I-35W southbound lane reduction for structural finish work. Traffic destined for Western Center Blvd will be directed to exit Basswood Blvd then continue on the southbound frontage road to Western Center Blvd.
      • IH-35W Southbound Entrance from Basswood Blvd:  During the day (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Saturday, Aug 5, the I-35W southbound entrance from Basswood Blvd will be closed for punch list work.
      • IH-35W Southbound Entrance from North Tarrant Pkwy:  During the day (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Saturday, Aug 5, the I-35W southbound entrance from North Tarrant Pkwy will be closed for punch list work.
      • IH-35W Southbound Frontage Road:
        • During the day, Saturday, Aug 5, various lanes of the I-35W southbound frontage road between North Tarrant Pkwy and I-820 will be closed for punch list work.
        • During the day, Monday, Aug 7, various lanes of the I-35W southbound frontage road between Harmon Road & Western Center Blvd will be closed for punch list work.
      • IH-35W Northbound Frontage Road:
        • During the day, Saturday, Aug 5, various lanes of the I-35W northbound frontage road between I-820 and North Tarrant Pkwy will be closed for punch list work.
        • During the day, Monday, Aug 7, various lanes of the I-35W northbound frontage road between Fossil Creek Blvd and Western Center Blvd will be closed for punch list work.
      • Western Center Blvd:  During the day (4 a.m. to Noon), Saturday, Aug 5, various lanes of westbound and eastbound Western Center Blvd between the northbound I-35W frontage road and southbound I-35W frontage road will be closed for general construction work.
    • Closures are subject to changes due to weather and schedule.
